Direct line who are regulated by the Financial Services
Authority are one of the biggest vehicle insurance companies in the UK
and offer competitive car
breakdown cover to new and existing customers. In common with other
big brands, this breakdown service is provided in association with an existing
company who already operate in the market place. In the case of Direct
Line this is Green Flag Motoring Assistance.
What makes this insurance company different from other providers? Direct Line
claims to respond to a car breakdown call within 40 minutes, 24 hours a day,
365 days a year with priority given to vulnerable callers such as the
disabled, young families, or single women. There is also the added benefit
of a 10% no claims discount provided no call outs have been made in the
first year.
All of the products offered are based on vehicle cover. Therefore, should
your car breakdown, assistance can be summoned regardless of who is driving
the car. For an addition premium, Direct Line also offers personal cover
to individuals and partners which allows policyholders to drive any car
or travel as a passenger and request help.
There are five car breakdown insurance products to choose from and these
range from the basic service which is roadside assistance to European
breakdown.
Any customers who decide to cancel their policy are entitled to a refund
calculated on a pro-rata basis less a charge of 25% of the annual
breakdown insurance premium
on the basis that they have not used the service.
